Donating to Independence Trust
Independence Trust is in part supported by your donations. The extra help you give can make an enormous difference. For example, with your help we can:
- Run day trips and activities for those who experience mental ill health or Alzheimer’s.
- Supply books and materials to those who want to improve their education.
- Give a few hours respite to those who support loved ones.
- Provide internet access for those seeking to get back into employment or to find meaningful community activities.
- Deliver high quality training for our volunteers.
- Provide art materials and courses to encourage creativity and self expression.
How we use your donations
Independence Trust works in 13 locations across the county and many community settings. Last year we helped more than 4,000 people, from 11 to 80 years of age. Our help is of great benefit to many others who are family and carers, giving them well deserved respite and time for themselves. We understand that people are the experts about their own needs and we support them to take more control and make improvements in their lives.
We value volunteers enormously as they give us direct contact with the communities we serve and bring invaluable life experience. Volunteering makes communities stronger and adds great value to our services.
How to donate
There are a few ways to donate. You can:
- Send a cheque to our head office.
- Give a donation to a member of staff in one of our offices.
If you do either of these and are a UK resident, you can Gift Aid the donation. Gift Aid increases the value of donations to UK charities and by allowing them to reclaim basic rate tax on your gift. This means that for every £1 donated, the charity can claim an extra 25 pence from the government.
- Or maybe the easiest way: you can donate online through our partnership with JustGiving.com
